Research Interests
Dr. Bukur’s research focuses on the areas of chemical reaction engineering and catalysis. Conversion of coal (or natural gas) derived synthesis gas to transportation fuels and chemical feedstocks via Fischer - Tropsch synthesis has been the focal point of his research. Dr. Bukur’s research includes catalyst synthesis, catalyst testing in fixed bed and stirred tank slurry reactors, kinetic and reactor modeling, and catalyst characterization by a variety of physico-chemical methods.
